The 1 is delighted to welcome the latest high profile partner for this year’s competition with the announcement that leading sports footwear brand PAYNTR will join the 2023 edition of the event.
PAYNTR will return to the competition after supporting The 1 in its inaugural year and will once again be providing the winner of the competition with one of their ambassador contracts. In addition to this, PAYNTR will be providing further prizes for all players who finish in the top 20 of the competition.
On the partnership with PAYNTR, Lydia Greenway said: “We are delighted that PAYNTR have returned to The 1 for the 2023 edition of the competition. For the winner to receive an ambassador contract for a leading sports footwear brand, it will really give them a taste of what being a professional athlete is like, and that is exactly what the competition is aspiring to do.”
David Paynter, Founder, said: “We are delighted to be back supporting The 1. It’s a great competition to discover up and coming talent in female cricket. We are looking forward to seeing who will be crowned The 1 this year and are excited to see so many young and aspiring cricketers.”
PAYNTR was founded in 2017 by former Yorkshire and Northamptonshire professional cricketer David Paynter, with the aim of producing performance-enhancing footwear that was designed with the biomechanical needs of the player in mind. The brand supports many elite athletes across the world including Eve Jones and Katie Levick.
The 1 returns on August 23rd, and the competition is bigger and better than ever. The 2023 edition will see The Blaze join Lydia Greenway’s search for the ultimate female all-rounder while Trent Bridge will play host to the competition. Participants will have eight tests which span across the three disciplines of cricket; batting, bowling and fielding, to prove they are the ultimate female all-rounder and be crowned The 1.
