Grassroots Story of the Week: Long Eaton RFC U16 Girls

LONG EATON RFC GIRLS U16
We’re back with our Grassroots Story of the Week! This week, we want to highlight a team that has been on an amazing journey to grow and develop as a squad. 🌟

Long Eaton RFC’s U16 Girls only had 6 players in their age group a year and a half ago, but that didn’t stop them! Since then, the squad has been growing and working hard on the rugby pitch. The club proudly shared the team’s big improvement on Instagram, following a big win where 10 of the 14 players scored tries! Sounds like a stellar performance from the team, which seems to have been on a brilliant journey since last year. A journey so impressive that it’s our Grassroots Story of the Week! 🤩

Besides the hard work from the Long Eaton U16 Girls, the coaches and management have of course been a big part of the journey. These efforts have helped grow women’s rugby and enabled girls to find their love for rugby - which is exactly what we want to celebrate 🎉

Don’t forget to send in your favourite stories from grassroots sport! It can be anyone from your local heroes, club volunteers, players, parents or even a whole team or club. We want to find and celebrate the best stories that help grow women’s and girls’ sport!
