Dartford Valley’s youth section ranges from their 3-5-year-old ‘Mini Monsters’ all the way up to U18. Last weekend, their U12 girls entered the pitch in the Kent County Waterfall finals in a combined team with girls from Beccehamian RFC and Old Gravesendians RGC. After displaying some incredible performances and team spirit, they came out as the winners!
The Dartford Valley’s youth section has been successful in more than just the U12 girls though. Jas Adonri played for the club from the mini’s level and went on to play for Medway before she was selected for Wasps in the Centre of Excellence England pathway! She has now been selected for the England U18s women squad ahead of the U18 Six Nations in April. It takes a lot of hard work to get as far as Jas already has, but the support from the club can’t be forgotten — we all know how much our very first club or team means to us, and Dartford Valley was there from the very start of Jas’ rugby journey.
Furthermore, the Dartford Valley Women have also seen great success in recent seasons. Last season, they won the NC2 league and therefore gained promotion to NC1 for the ongoing 22/23 season. In fact, their win meant that the club gained double promotion, with both the men’s and women’s senior teams winning their leagues last season! The dedication and attention to all teams and players in a club is what helps build the sense of community that makes rugby so special, and Dartford Valley is no exception.
